In the 1990’s Arup Associates worked on a development in the City of London. In support of the proposals, Miller Hare were hired to produce a set of material which was generated from a 3D model.
The 3D model, created using the CAD package – GDS from Applied Research of Cambridge, was accurately generated from supplied 2D drawings and located in an early version of the Miller Hare London model.
The image below was generated using output from GDS and modified with a proprietary environment encompassing the use of Photoshop. The initial proposal did not receive planning permission and was superseded with a second scheme which indeed did receive approval.
In 2025, Bill was asked to rebuild a 3D model of the as built Plantation House for use as context for an adjacent new scheme on Fenchurch Street. The model was created in Sketchup from approved planning drawings with supporting images.
